Will is an Honorary Reader in Child Health at Keele University and a Consultant Paediatrician at the Staffordshire Children's Hospital at Royal Stoke.
He has been a member of PEDSIG for almost 20 years, and due to his great age has worn several educational hats over the years including Educational Lead for undergraduate Child Health at Nottingham, College tutor, Training Programme Director, Regional Advisor and Head of School.
It is probably best to avoid engaging him in conversations to do with assessments and examinations in particular, as he is a crashing bore on the subject. He is interested in burn out in doctors and currently spends one day a week trying to improve education and working conditions for doctors in training.
He is currently the RCPCH Assistant Officer for Examinations, the Deputy Clinical Tutor for the University Hospitals of the North Midlands, the Chief Editor of Paediatrics and Child Health and the co-editor of the widely used 'Sunflower book' with Tom Lissauer (and a few other books that probably only get read by his friends). Despite (or perhaps because of) his vast age, he has avoided getting any proper educational qualifications, but might eventually get around to completing his PG Certificate in Medical Education.
